San Antonio Ready to Work

OVERVIEW

Ready to Work is an unprecedented workforce initiative approved by San Antonio voters in 2020 to help residents of San Antonio find easy access to professional training, education, and quality careers. The $200M program offers residents tuition for industry-recognized certifications, associate and bachelor’s degrees, wraparound support services, emergency assistance, job placement and retention services.

By the end of Ready to Work’s first year, participants were earning a median of $15.38/hour more than they had earned before joining the program.

Sharman Stein Award

San Antonio’s Ready to Work team received the fifth annual Sharman Stein Award for Storytelling Changemakers in August 2023. The award recognizes a local government team that cultivates trust and collaboration between local government and residents through excellence in communications.

Creative Noggin is proud to support Ready to Work’s ongoing efforts to communicate with residents through “data-driven marketing and targeted outreach to historically marginalized communities and other areas with high unemployment”.

WHAT OUR CLIENT SAYS

Talented. Friendly. Professional. Timely. Those are attributes in the people behind Creative Noggin. Tracy, Sara, Susanne and the entire team built the Ready to Work brand from the ground up, including the logo, brand guideline, collateral and many of the assets that our program used to begin this unprecedented city and county-wide initiative for job education, training and placement. Creative Noggin puts its heart and soul into the work that they do—and they jump in to lend a helping hand whenever we need them the most. Ready to Work is a true community collaborative, and that’s the spirit they deliver to the Workforce Development Office, the City of San Antonio and the participants, potential participants, employers and stakeholders. The team cares and it shows.
